BIOGRAPHIE

Yann Armellino est un guitariste soliste français à la convergence de plusieurs styles. Se réclamant du hard rock des années 80, il poursuit une carrière riche en production. 4 albums à son actif, d’un 1^er très «métal » sorti en 1999 au 4^ème « Cross-rocks » (2004) qui démontre sa capacité à intégrer le blues des origines au son le plus actuel. Passionné de musique, il écoute en véritable fan ce que le monde apporte à ses oreilles : KISS, adoration de jeunesse jamais reniée, les frères Van Halen, Vivian Campbell, Ian Moore, Joe Satriani, auquel la presse spécialisée n’hésite pas à le comparer techniquement (physiquement, impossible de les confondre – voir photo).

Son parcours intrigue. Perfectionniste de studio, discret sur lui-même, pas expansif, c’est sur scène qu’on peut découvrir sa véritable nature, sa simplicité, son respect du public. Il adopte la pose du guitar-hero non par vanité, mais parce qu’il en est un authentique, intègre et sans frime. La preuve : un son immédiatement identifiable, une aisance et une technique de haut-vol. Il contribue à de nombreuses revues musicales, donnant à tous sans compter ses « plans », adaptations et transpositions.

Yann Armellino is a french lead guitar player combining different musical styles. Influenced by the eighties hard rock, he is following a productive carreer. 4 cd’s done, from the 1st, really heavy, out in 1999 to the fourth ’’ Crossrocks ’’(2004) which shows his capacity to include blues root to a modern sound. Music passionnate, he listen like a truthfull fan to what the world brings to his ears : KISS, his youth favorite band, never denied, the Van Halen brothers, Vivian Campbell, Ian Moore, Joe Satriani, guitarist magazines compared both technically (physically, it is impossible to mix them up-see picture).

His journey is intriguing, studio perfectionist, low profile, not effusive, it is on stage that we can discover his truthfull spirit, his simplicity, his audience respect .He picks up his guitar hero attitude, not because he is vain but because he is a genuine one, honnest with no showing off. The proof : an immediatly recognizable sound played with ease. He is contributing to numerous guitarist magazines, giving to everybody his tablatures.

At the « crossrocks », he could be the precursor of a new wave, a new era of ‘’french guitar touch’’ school finally reconized.
